Is it time William Ruto cuts ties with Jubilee?

Recently, Jubilee has been on the receiving end from the Kenyan populace owing to the way the Finance Bill 2018 was hastily passed and signed by president Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenyans have shared their frustrations openly.
President Kenyatta signed the bill despite the fact that the process followed to pass it in Parliament was rather questionable. He signed it despite calls by the Kenyans to shelve the bill.
After signing it, the president held a meeting the following day with the building bridges committee. He co-chaired it with Raila Odinga at statehouse Nairobi. Missing in action was his deputy William Ruto who was present when Kenyatta signed the Bill.

Lately, Mr Ruto has been sidelined. He has not spoke about the Finance Bill 2018. Whether it's by default or not, all is not well in government.
During the 2010 referendum push, Mr Ruto led the No team. He campaigned against the constitution 2010 claiming that the introduction of the new levels of government would be costly to the Kenyan populace and would mean more taxes to fund the bloated government.
Eight years down the line, his prophesy has come to pass. The introduction of stringent tax measures has been met by an uproar from Kenyans of all walks of life.

Mr Ruto who has been known to be an independent thinker ought to wake up and smell the roses. The honeymoon period is long over and its time for the deputy president to chat his own political path.
The wrath of Kenyans might befall him too if he clings on to the ruling party. It is also important as students of history to remember that the only assistant to the president who rose to the top seat was Daniel Moi. He rose to that seat by chance.
Mr Ruto should now think of taking this new vacant position left by Mr Odinga who has now joined government. There is a clear vacuum that has been created and there's no single politician ready to take over the mantle.

As fierce as he is, Ruto ought to make preparations to take over the government. It'll be a toll order for him to do so while still in government. This is due to the fact that Kenyans will remember the role played by the current government in making the Lives of the masses unbearable through exorbitant taxes.
It is time you woke up Mr Deputy President. The Kenyan people are mad with the jubilee administration. There's no one they can turn to as Odinga is deeply in the government. Be the people's "savior" and come to their rescue.
