Nairobi based lawyer Allan Kosgey, son to former industrialization minister Henry Kosgey has shifted his political base from Uasin Gishu to Nandi.
The lawyer who has been traversing different parts of the county has been the talk of town lately due to the increased activities within the county.
Opinion is divided on what exactly the new entrant into the political arena is seeking. Some have said that he is eyeing the Nandi Hills constituency seat, while others have been floating the idea of him running for the gubernatorial seat.
The young Kosgey a philanthropist has been engaging several youth and women groups with an aim of empowering them. He has on several occasions come to the aid of different people who have had problems in the community.

Samson Keino a resident of Nandi Hills stated that Mr Kosgey had won the hearts of many residents in the constituency through his philanthropic overtures. He said that most of the residents have appreciated the gesture extended by the young Kosgey.
Miriam Limo a business woman in Nandi hills also heaped praises on the young politician. She said that the man had what it takes to be given a leadership position in the county.
However all is not rosy for the politician, Mr Paul Sang a resident of the county was quick to caution residents against falling for Mr Kosgey's new found interests. "Mr Kosgey is a politician, just like any other politician he will be seeking to Win hearts of the electorate. Let us not be to quick to follow him without critically analysing whatever he has to offer." He said.
In 2017 polls, Allan had vied for the Kesses parliamentary seat. He however lost to the current MP Dr. Mishra.
His entrance into the Nandi political arena is bound to create some friction. This is because the young politician is well connected and has the financial muscle to destabilize already established political figures.
What remains to be seen is whether the young lawyer will be able to sustain his political ambitions all the way to 2022 during the next general elections.
