Nandi Hills Member of County Assembly Gideon Koech has been named the MCA of the Month. The first time legislator's contribution in the house business has seen him bag the title.

Known for his charisma and wit, the legislator's star seems to be shining with each passing day. The chair of the implementation committee has been steadfast in ensuring that issues affecting residents of his Nandi Hills ward are catered for.

Some of the parameters used to award him the award include the number of motions he tabled in the house, his performance in the plenary and the general mastery of the house standing orders among others.

When contacted for a comment, the legislator stated that he was glad that he was doing what the people had elected him to do."I am only fulfiling my pledges to the people of Nandi Hills." He said.

Mr Koech has been on the forefront to ensure that the youth of Nandi are catered for. He has in the recent past facilitated motions aimed at ensuring that the local people are given the first priority when it comes to employment from contractors and multinationals in Nandi.

He has promised to continue with his legislative agenda in the County Assembly to ensure that his people are well represented.
