Nandi governor Stephen Sang
Nandi governor Stephen Sang recently tabled names of the people he had appointed to join his executive. He was categorical that the new team will work hand in hand to ensure that the devolution agenda is realized.
Mr Sang, a youthful leader came up with a ten member cabinet that is rather youthful with most of the members being below fourty five years.
His youngest CEC being the sports and youth affairs CEC who is 28 years a Mr Elly Kurgat from Tinderet sub county. Mr Sang has depicted his trust for the youths whom time and again he has said have a special place in his government.
As the appointees await vetting by the county assembly, it is evident that the list has been well received by Nandi residents. A spot check by our reporter indicated that a majority of the people were optimistic that the group would do a great job in delivering Sang's agenda for the people.
The Nandi county assembly through its clerk has indicated that the hearings to determine the suitability of each of the candidates will start on 6th October until 9th October 2017. The pubic have been urged to foward written submissions undertaken on oath with those dissatisfied with the nominees to give compelling reasons.
As soon as the vetting process is done with, the assembly is expected to table a report on its findings which shall be made public.
