What the IEBC Has In store For The October 17th Polls

The Presidential election scheduled for 17th October is set to cost at least Ksh. 10 billion. IEBC has just finalized the tabulation of costs which is to be forwarded to treasury for funding. The Ksh. 10 billion budget encompasses 2.8 billion for hiring transport and 5.5 billion to pay polling officials.

However, the estimate budget doesn’t include the printing cost of ballot papers which will again be done by Dubai-based Al Ghurair printing firm.

Earlier on, NASA’s chief principal Raila Odinga had asked the printing of the coming presidential elections to be done by another firm and not Al-Ghurair. But as it turns out, the Dubai-based firm signed a two -year contract with IEBC meaning it has onus to go ahead and print election papers for the October 17th presidential elections.
