Nandi County Speaker Race Intensifies, Mildred Chelimo Speaks To Nandi News

As the Nandi County Assembly is getting ready to begin its house business in the coming week, top on the agenda is the election of a county speaker. As soon as the members of the county assembly are sworn in, the next order will be to cast their votes.

The already crowded race promises to be one of a kind. This is mainly due to the fact that, it is a race that is crowded with young brilliant minds that are set to transform how Nandi politics is carried out.

We sought to highlight the credentials of one of the aspirants who is an advocate of the high court of Kenya and among the few ladies that have tossed themselves into the political world.

MILDRED CHELIMO
A highly motivated, skilled and hardworking lady who is an advocate of the high court of Kenya, Extremely knowledgeable in Kenyan laws with four years litigation experience and a proven track record of success.

Currently she is working as an associate at a leading law firm in Kericho, E.M ORINA & COMPANY ADVOCATES which deals with many high profile cases and in representation of big institutions like Kericho county government, Bomet County government, Kabianga university, several banks and other financial institutions plus in representations of individual clients.

She has a wide set of skills including drafting of legal documents, trial advocacy, alternative dispute resolutions, case management, administration and client counseling.

She had earlier been contracted by the Kenya Transition Initiatives to develop and implement a peace action plan for Kericho County in the year 2012 to ensure peaceful transition from the national government to county government during boundary delimitation process, a task that she undertook quite successfully.

Chelimo is interested in community development and in bringing change in socio economic development of all individuals in the society an agenda which she has so far strived to achieve in life.

When asked why she is interested in the seat, she cited her desire for real change as her motivating factor. She believes that she has what it takes to transform the county assembly. She is urging all the MCA'S to vote for her as the speaker, Nandi County.
