Sang leads Nandi County leaders as they receive their jubilee certificates

Nandi jubilee candidates for the August 2017 general elections were yesterday awarded with their nomination certificates by the party officials at an event held at Kapsabet, the headquarters of Nandi.

The colourful event which was well attended by the jubilee nominees and their supporters was characterized by pomp and glamour as every nominee sought to reassure their supporters of a sure win during the August polls.

The jubilee gubernatorial nominee, Stephen Sang used the opportunity to introduce his running mate Dr. Yulita Mitei whom he referred to as a capable leader who is full of experience and expertise with regards to issues concerning governance and administration. He assured Nandi residents that his government will be lean, very efficient and would embrace professionalism in service delivery.

On her part, Dr. Yulita vowed to work in harmony with her boss to ensure that service delivery to the people was given the first priority. She cited the need for the leaders to coexist harmoniously in fostering development in the county.

The jubilee senatorial nominee Kiprotich Cherargey assured the residents that his oversight role would continue so as to ensure that the fruits of devolution are felt by the Nandi residents. He reminded the people of the need to remain steadfast and true to the spirit of devolved system of governance

Also present was the jubilee women representative nominee Dr. Tecla Tum, who assured the residents that once elected she would make good use of the affirmative Action fund to ensure that the women and the disadvantaged groups would benefit from the Kitty and be able to sustain their day to day livelihoods.

Other leaders present included the member of parliament(MP) and the member of county assembly(MCA) nominees who vowed to work together to ensure that Nandi moves to the right side of history.

The recently concluded jubilee nominations in Nandi saw the governor, 2 MPs and 22 MCAs lose their tickets to new entrants. The IEBC announced the 28th of May as the official date for campaign kick offs.
